JMA CHALLENGE 2004
PYJAMA
GAMES AT HOLLINS LANE
A challenge was issued to young people in the North Lancashire District by the Chairman, Rev Stephen Poxon: Hold a fund-raising event before 1st May in support of the Breakfast Feeding Scheme for Street Children in Uruguay.
Three of the young people at Hollins Lane Church -- Jade, Fallon & Daniel -- suggested that they and others should invite sponsorship if they would come to church in their nightwear on 8th February 2004. The idea was welcomed and the youngsters were joined by several brave adults. Over £200 was raised.

THE WALK ON EASTER MONDAY
Walkers from Dolphinholme Chapel and other circuit members successfully raised £126 after completing their JMA Challenge Walk on Easter Monday. The circular walk set off from Bleasdale School and over 50 adults and children participated in the event, which had been organised with the aim of raising funds in support of the 'Breakfast Feeding Scheme' in Uraguay.
The scheme had been introduced to the children by Rev Stephen Poxon at the Circuit Childrens' Day last November. The scheme supports 180 children and gives them breakfast every Saturday morning. The breakfast includes a cup of cocoa, a boiled egg, a sandwich and a piece of fruit. The challenge was to raise funds to ensure that the scheme can continue to run. Many thanks go to organiser Andrea Gardner, to John Entwistle for guiding the walk, and to all contributors for their generous donations.
